Origin: The House of Uribe traces its roots to the early medieval period, founded by the warrior Don Rodrigo de Uribe, who settled in Castilla-La Mancha.

Throughout the 13th century, the Uribe family established themselves as key players in the region, gaining favor with the Crown through military service against the Moors. Their loyalty earned them significant lands and privileges, particularly around Oropesa Castle. In the late 14th century, Don Juan de Uribe, a notable military commander, played a pivotal role in the defense of the castle during a siege, solidifying the family’s reputation.
