Founded in the mid-11th century, the House of Ocaña quickly rose to prominence within the noble circles of Aragón. They played a pivotal role in the defense of Albalate Castle against various incursions, solidifying their status as protectors of the region. Throughout the 12th century, the family expanded its influence by marrying into other noble houses, including the House of Zúñiga, which further strengthened their alliances.
