House of Nájera
“Regia Cuna”
Origin: Lords of Nájera, cradle of Castilian kings
Nájera was the capital of the Kingdom of Navarra-Nájera and later one of Castile's most important cities. The lords of Nájera served as custodians of Santa María la Real monastery.\n\nThe monastery's Royal Pantheon contains the tombs of dozens of kings, queens, and infantes, making it one of Spain's most important royal burial sites.\n\nThe family also controlled sections of the Camino de Santiago and the Rioja wine region, profiting from both pilgrims and viticulture.
