Origin: The House of Montesinos was founded by Rodrigo Montesinos, a knight who fought in the Reconquista.

The House of Montesinos rose to prominence in the early 11th century as defenders of Castalla Castle against the Moors. Under Rodrigo's leadership, the family established itself as a key military and political force in the region. In the following generations, the Montesinos family expanded their influence by marrying into other noble houses, such as the House of Almaraz. This alliance strengthened their position and solidified their claims over various lands in the Valencian Community.
