Founded by Lord Pedro de Alvira, the family initially built wealth through trade in textiles and spices. Their success allowed them to acquire lands in the foothills of the Pyrenees, where they established strongholds, including Aínsa Castle. In the 12th century, Lady Beatriz de Alvira, known for her wisdom and diplomatic skills, married into the House of Bernal, uniting two powerful families.
