Origin: The House of Almazán was established by Don Sancho de Almazán, a nobleman who gained prominence in the service of the Castilian crown during the Reconquista.

Emerging in the 12th century, the House of Almazán quickly became influential in the region through their military contributions against the Moors. They constructed several fortifications, including a prominent castle in nearby Almazán. In the 14th century, Doña Beatriz de Almazán, known for her political acumen, married into the House of Uribe, strengthening their alliances.
