Origin: Established in the early 11th century, the House of Alfons rose to prominence through military service to the Crown.
The House of Alfons was founded by Count Sancho Alfons, a nobleman who distinguished himself in the Reconquista. His leadership at the Battle of Valencia in 1094 earned him extensive lands and the loyalty of many vassals.
