Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Island of the Eternal Spring
The province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife encompasses the western Canary Islands—Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro. Dominated by Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak, this is a land of ancient laurel forests, astronomical observatories, and the recent volcanic eruption of La Palma that reminded the world that these islands are still being born from fire.
