Valldemossa

A hilltop village in the Tramuntana mountains where Chopin and George Sand spent a famous winter in 1838-39. The Real Cartuja (Royal Charterhouse) dominates the village, surrounded by olive groves and mountain peaks.

Though the Chopin connection draws some visitors, Valldemossa's surrounding trails and hidden hermitages remain largely unexplored.
