Sancho III the Great of Navarre, from the Jiménez dynasty, divided his realms among his sons — but through his wife Mayor of Castile connected to the Ivrea lineage , the dynasty's influence extended across Castile, León, and Aragon. Ramiro I, Sancho's illegitimate son, founded the independent Kingdom of Aragon.
