The Granada Venegas were descended from the Nasrid royal family who converted to Christianity after the fall of Granada. They retained significant properties including the Generalife gardens.\n\nNavigating between two worlds, they served as intermediaries between the Crown and the remaining Morisco population. Their unique position made them invaluable during the tense decades after 1492.\n\nThe family gradually assimilated into Castilian nobility while preserving elements of their Moorish heritage in art and architecture.
