Hammudid Dynasty
“Descendants of the Prophet, Caliphs of Málaga”
Origin: Málaga
The Hammudids were an Idrisid dynasty claiming descent from the Prophet Muhammad through his grandson al-Hasan. They briefly claimed the title of Caliph of Córdoba before establishing independent taifas in Málaga and Algeciras. Their claim to Prophetic descent gave them unique religious authority.
