The Dhunnunids were a Berber dynasty that ruled the Taifa of Toledo, the most strategically important taifa kingdom in central Iberia. Under al-Ma'mun, Toledo became a major center of science and translation. The kingdom's fall to Alfonso VI of Castile in 1085 was a turning point in the Reconquista.
