Muhammad ibn Mardanīsh, known as the "Wolf King" Rey Lobo , was one of the most remarkable rulers of 12th-century Iberia. Of Muwalladun origin, he resisted the Almohad invasion and allied with Christian kingdoms. His court blended Islamic and Christian artistic traditions in a unique cultural synthesis.
