Almohad Governors of Al-Andalus
“God is the greatest, there is no god but God”
Origin: Seville
The Almohads, a Berber reform movement from the Atlas Mountains, replaced the Almoravids as rulers of al-Andalus. They made Seville their Iberian capital and built its iconic landmarks. The Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa in 1212 broke their power in Iberia, leading to the final phase of the Reconquista.
